Cannot install Vuforia Package from Package Manager

September 28, 2020 - 7:28am #1

I just updated to the latest Unity LTS version (2019.4.11f1) and I can't install the Vuforia package from the Package Manager. It seems to me that the scoped registry is not working at all at https://registry.packages.developer.vuforia.com/. I cannot afford to install it via the other method since I work on a team, and making everyone install it locally is just not acceptable.

The effect I'm experiencing is that the Package Manager is stuck in "Resolving Packages" and it's only related to the Vuforia Package, it has nothing to do with my connection or internet/firewall settings. I saw numerous posts regarding the same subject since July, so I guess the issue should be fixed by now already.

Please look into this ASAP.

Hi @mcotora

I tried installing via the Package Manager again yesterday and it took some time, but it worked after all.

Thank you!

Hi @mcotora, thank you for responding.

I'll give it another try today via the package manager.

Hi,

Thank you for the feedback.

I can confirm that sometimes it may take longer to download the app, this may be independent of your internet speed and is related to how Unity is handling somewhat big packages not stored in their package manager. The route so far my understanding goes: Vuforia Azure storage -> Unity Package Manager -> End-User;

When you actually are downloading the SDK, Unity is showing "Resolving Packages" until the SDK has completely downloaded; hence the appearance of being stuck.
