Flashlight won't work

Vuforia SDK Version: 8.1.11 - Description with steps to reproduce: I downloaded the vuforia core samples and the image target sample, where I have a "flash" button, won't do anything. - Development OS (Mac OS X, Windows, Linux): windows - Mobile OS and Version: Android 9 - Mobile Device Manufacturer and Model name: Galaxy S8 - Do the Vuforia Sample Applications show the same behavior?: yes. I wasn't being able to toggle the flashlight on my own, so I decided to try out the image target sample but it didn't work there either.

Another thing that happens is, if I try the following code https://gist.github.com/GOROman/d403d39b34d7f99934fd , the camera flashlight turns on briefly and then turns off again.

It is our understanding that ARCore does not currently support torch mode: https://github.com/google-ar/arcore-android-sdk/issues/153
