Object recognition issue - Unity vs Scanner App

December 7, 2016 - 1:08pm #1

I am developing an app for recognizing different objects and open a link to a website if the object is detected (no continuous tracking, no augmentation). I have scanned some objects with the vuforia object scanner app. In test mode, objects get recognized really fast and have stable tracking as well. However, in my Unity app, the objects get barely recognized at all. Often it takes really long and is working only from few angles.

Tested on OnePlus 3, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S7

Scanning the object and recognizing with unity app were under exact same lighting and surrounding conditions. Autofocus is working in my unity app.

Please give me any hints on how I can match the recognition performance of the scanner app.

Thanks in advance

Object recognition issue - Unity vs Scanner App

Hi Bambam,

I have exactly the same problem. Object Scanner App detect on the fly my scanned object but when i build a custom app in Unity or use the supplied examples of Vuforia the object detection rarely works. Also i put auto focus code to enable it. Could you solve the problem or are you still waiting for an answer?
