Target Manager shows wrong faces for boxes

September 25, 2013 - 11:24pm #1

Vuforia SDK Version: Target Manager -

Description with steps to reproduce:

I just tried to create a box target in Target Manager and see this view now:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/xb9spici6h7b3ht/boxviewer_bug.jpg

in the 2D unwrapped view, the long lines on the sides (selected tile) correctly point upwards - but on the 3D cube they are displayed 90° rotated. So either the 3D cube is wrong or the display of the unwrapping.

Development OS (Mac OS X, Windows, Linux): Windows -

Mobile OS and Version: does not apply -

Mobile Device Manufacturer and Model name: does not apply -

Do the Vuforia Sample Applications show the same behavior?:

Thank you

What about the display of the MultiTarget Object in Unity? there is also a discrepancy between this one and the 2D unwrapped view in TargetManager. The 'back' face is displayed 180° rotated in the MultiTarget prefab of Unity compared to the 2D unwrapping shown in Target Manager.

To achieve correct tracking - do I need to make the MultiTarget object in Unity look correct, or do I need to make the 2D Unwrapping in TargetManager look correct?

Thanks for the report.

This is a known rendering issue of the 3D cube preview in the Target Manager UI;

the correct orientation of the images is the one represented in the 2D unwrapped view on the right.

Note: your multi--target will work as expected according to the unwrapped view (so, functionally you should not experience any issue).
