Vuforia SDK Version: 6.0.120 -
Description with steps to reproduce: Hello. I am having issues with UWP Unity application's camera freezes (background plane stops updating) on Surface Pro 4 back and laptop USB web cameras.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create new Project in Unity 5.4.2
3. Import ImageTargets from vuforia-samples-core-unity-6-0-120.zip
4. Load sample scene with ARCamera and set license key
6. Build as UWP
7. Create local package in VS2015
8. Enable developer mode on device and install the package
9. Point camera at stones picture
10. Background plane stops updating the moment model appears. However, Camera position does not stop updating as you can keep moving the device around and observe the object from different directions.
11. Once you move camera away, background plane unfreezes -
Development OS (Mac OS X, Windows, Linux): Windows 10 -
Mobile OS and Version: Windows 10 -
Mobile Device Manufacturer and Model name: Microsoft Surface Pro 4 -
Do the Vuforia Sample Applications show the same behavior?: This issue does not happen when using an INTEGRATED web camera on laptop or using a front camera Surface Pro 4.
I am having this exact issue
I am having this exact issue on a Surface 2.
It seems that it's purely a visual issue, as (as you mentioned) the tracking still works fine - the background plane image simply stops updating.
About to test an android package - I'll report back.

This issue was fixed with the latest update (6.1.17).
Thank you!
Still having the same issue
Still having the same issue in vuforia 6.2
The camera view gets freezes but the tracking works in uwp master build.
Works well in debug build, problem comes when we build as master in visual studio
Same issue on my Surface Pro
Same issue on my Surface Pro 4. UWP app works fine on a laptop with a built-in web cam. When deployed on Surface as soon as target triggers model to show, camera's (rear-facing cam) output freezes. However the app continues tracking and updating model.
I've now tried this on Unity
I've now tried this on Unity 5.4.4f1 and Unity 5.5.1f1 (Win 10 64 bit) with Vuforia 6.2.6SDK. The tracking and video plane works fine if I build from Visual studio as a Release but if I use Master the Video plane will freeze when a target is detected and resume once the target is lost.
Attached are the build
Attached are the build settings for the project that is having this issue. I'm most confused why the project works fine if its built from Visual Studio as anything other then Master.
Hello,
Hello,
Can you please provide more clarity on the use case here? I've seen references to webcams, which is something that Vuforia does not support, excluding PlayMode.
Just to clarify, Vuforia only supports select UWP devices, such as the Surface Pro 4, with embedded cameras.
