Hello, I am having the exact same issue. It's quite tiresome having to manually change the profiles each time because my changes keep getting lost. Does anyone have a solution to this behaviour?

Hi there,

thank you for your response.

Yes, I understand that the xml files are protected, that admin privileges are needed. and Yes, I am able to edit the file with the changes reflected in Unity. However, as highlighted also by a fellow poster in the thread, the whole folder gets reset every time I restart the editor (causing me to have to re-edit the file every time).

The same thing happens to us. Any changes done to webcamprofiles.xml get reset when the editor is restarted.

We are running the latest version of Unity 2019.2 and the Vuforia package on macOS 10.14.5.

The file is being edited with admin rights, so this is not the issue here.

It seems that either Unity or Vuforia reset the package located in the Library/PackageCache folder.

Hi,

I quickly tested it on Mac and I was *not* able to reproduce the issue. Changes remained in the file.

The thing that I noticed that when changing the webcamprofiles.xml file is that an admin popup appeared in order to be able to edit. This means admin privileges are required to edit the file.

Could you please make sure that you open the xml file with admin rights?

Thank you.
