About Classic License

Hello.

We are running a small company with five members.

We purchased a Classic License in 2018 and published an android app with Vuforia SDK on Google Play store which is a content app operated and managed by ourselves.

Our app uses standard AR functionality(floating images on AR mode), and not using any cloud-based functions. And the functionality is not the main feature of our app.

We recently heard that a company should purchase a Professional License if their app is publishing on Google play for commercial use.

But our company's annual revenue is under ten million dollars and the revenue generated by this app is $0.

Our app does not utilize Cloud Services and does not fall into a Professional Use License category.

Could we continue to use the classic license?

Hello,

As technical support for Vuforia Engine, I don't feel I'm qualified to guide you on the correct license type. I only tried to clarify app ownership in relation to license's application.

If you still feel you need to investigate further, I suggest you reach out to our sales team: https://engine.vuforia.com/contact/contact-sales

Thanks,

We have ownership rights for our app, and we have developed, published and running by ourselves.

Our app is being distributed as a free app on Google Play, and there isn't any monetization feature of in-app billing, ads, etc.

And as I mentioned below, Our app does not utilize Cloud Services and does not fall into a Professional Use License category.

In this case, could we continue to use the classic license?

Hello,

Vuforia Engine licensing is based upon the ultimate owner of the app's intellectual property (i.e. IP). Thus, the company for which the app was developed.

Using the correct license will depend upon that company's details .

Thanks,
