Changing license from standalone to cloud reco

Hello, 

our customer is not sure how much image targets they will use and how frequently they will update image targets. So we were thinking that we start our app with standalone license and if there's a need for it we upgrade it to cloud reco. I'm wondering what happens if we do that? Will standalone license become cloud one or it will be deactivated and not usable for any other apps .
