Glass model target

May 7, 2018 - 8:13pm #1

Hi! I am wondering if the transparency of the physical object will matter to the object detection?

I am basically trying to float an AR object inside a glass sphere... which is part of a bigger toy with solid parts. I can use those solid parts as the model target to look for but I am wondering if i should include the glass spheres as part of the digital model? or should i leave them out?... does the digital FBX model have to match the physical model exactly (how precise? Millimeters?.. or can i feed the model target generator only the solid parts of my toy to use as detection?

How should i go about doing this? Does Vuforia detect / use glass for tracking?

see attached for a rendering of my "toy" :)

Help? Thanks so much
