Model Target precision

I wonder if there are any mesures regarding the Model Target precision in specified circumstances?

For example: For a model X in Y complexity in Z environment conditions, Vuforia Model Targets can have a precision of +- 3mm.

Just an example. I know it is hard to give such statements, but sometimes a customer asks for such things. Expecially in industies where we need mm precise overlay.

So is there any sepcification paper, where we can reference the precision?

We do not provide such information as it depends on the real world factors. In "lab" or ideal conditions tracking is very accurate.

In general the tracking/accuracy depends on the CAD model-object match, object material, device, environment/lighting.

In our latested releases 9.4->9.7 we brought several improvements to the MTG that improves tracking and recognition like automatic coloring, model simplification etc.

A good starting point to have an optimal experience regarding Model Targets would be this articles: and

Thank you.
