multiple target detection & tracking not work with Vuforia 7.3.8

June 6, 2018 - 4:02pm #1

Hi guys!

We experimented with Vuforia 7.38 for detecting and tracking multiple objects.

Here are the dimensions of the target objects in our tests:

- Toy 1, 2.5in * 0.8in * 2.7in

- Toy 2, 2.7in * 2in * 2.5in

In addition, we used the Logitech HD Webcam C920 (with Carl Zeiss Lens).

Despite using the Unity sample project for Windows 10, the “Advanced Recognition” feature didn’t work in our testing environment.  We were able to detect the first object (Toy 1) in the beginning.  As we panned the camera towards the second object (Toy 2), tracking was lost on the first object.  Clearly, we are missing something.  We would appreciate it if you could provide some guidance on the matter.

1.  What are the recommended specifications for the objects?  For example, minimum size, capture distance, lighting conditions, details on camera focus, etc.

2.  If Vuforia currently doesn’t support detection of small toys, are there future plans to support this in the future?

Let us know if you have any questions, or require further clarity.

Have a great day!
