No guide view in Hololens

Hi all,

I found a Hololens model target demo in the early access part under Download tab, https://developer.vuforia.com/downloads/beta. The guide shows up after I deploy the sample to my Hololens device. But after I change the database from VuforiaMars to my own data_base (bone_top), the 3D guide doesn't show up in my Hololens. I tried it then in the play mode, and it works fine. I learned some information from this post: https://developer.vuforia.com/forum/model-targets/model-target-guide-view-hololens, but I am not sure how should I adjust the configuration to fit the FOV of Hololens, which I guess is pretty small.  I am using Vuforia 7.1.35, Unity 2018.1.1f1 Personal version, Model Generator tool 7.1.31. My OS of desktop Windows 10 and Hololens is Windows Holographic 10.0.14393.953.

Is there anyone who can help me out? And if Vuforia support team view this post, can you please check the model target file (.vup) of my model to see whether there are some problems with it? What is the difference between the lander model target and my own model target? If not, how can I generate the model correctly to let it work on Hololens or what should I do to modify the model to let it fit in?

I attach some configurations and setting screenshots and willing to share my model's obj file the .vup file. if anyone is interested in it, I can send it privately.  I will be very appreciated if anyone can give some bits of advice. I have been stuck on this problem for many days. Thanks!

Sincerely,

Mark

Hello HCMark,

I'm guessing the person in the other thread is modifying the size of their guideview to fit into the HoloLens FoV.

Hi Mark,

You'll need to upload them somewhere like Dropbox and provide me with a download link. Could you also give this all a try with Vuforia and MTG 7.2.20 to see if it has resolved your issue?

Thanks,

Vuforia Engine Support

OK I will give a try in Vuforia 7.2.20. Here are the data of the model target generator file, the bone model object itself and the exported unity package file in my google drive by private message.

Thank you so much!

Mark
