Symmetry problem

June 3, 2021 - 3:18pm #1

I have an object that I'd like to track using its CAD model. Tracking seems to be working fine. However front and back sides of the object are identical. Ofcourse this creates the problem. This leads to object being tracked from both sides. The only difference is that there is a logo on the front side. Is there any way I can use the logo to my advantage to let the tracking manager know that it's the front side somehow?

Hi Roland,

Our design team prepared a texture for the model and indeed it seems to perform better now. However, our app is for mobile devices and this seems to have an adverse effect on the performance. Or am I imagining things?

As a side note, I've been filling the contact forms for a while now and no one from the sales team have contacted me yet.

Hello ,

possibly you can use an advanced model target where the model contains colors so that it will detect the logo as difference to the scanned model part.

Another option could be to create on the location of the logo a small extrusion in the 3d model (used to create the Model Target) - so that this possibly it will create some  silhouette edges for the guided view helping better to  match  the contour of the logo
