3D Object Tracking in Unity

February 12, 2017 - 6:52pm #1

Hi All,

I made a successful Unity AR test in unity 5.5.1 and Vuforia2Unity package with a flat image track. Although I first had to adjust the texture type and shape in the unity inspector for the QCAR data (the image file).

Then I scanned a 3D object using the Vuforia Object Scanner and tried the same process. The object won't scan. I tried the same thing with no success.

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Agreed, the point cloud appears to scan spurious points of the paper or even sometimes background stuff and there is no way to review/clean the data.

So you can not scan the object with the object scanner? Or are you trying to say that the object is not recognized or tracked? I opened an issue about 3d scanned objects not being tracked or recognized by the system after integration into the application. I have done some testing and it seems to be an issue with the scanner plotting points on the scan paper making the scan useless unless the object is on that paper.
