Does object scanning work with Hololens or do i have to use an android device???

Hello guys,

i want to use the object scanner to put a hologram beside a machine in our technical school in university. Do i have to scann the machine with an android device or is the scanning-process also possible with the hololens? By the way is that true that the object scanne only works for small and decent objects???

Need your help i am not a pro, just an mechanical engineer in the making

The Object Scanner tool is recommended only for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7 devices.

ok i tried it but the frame rate is really bad and the hologram aligned to that object is drifting. But anyway, is the object scanning process also possible for bigger objects like a combustion motor or a milling machine???
