From my testing of the object scanner, it's obvious vuforia uses market based point cloud creation. This is old technology.
My question is; the vuforia website only accepts it's own proprietary .OS format to converting these models to the vuforia object recog. If we're creating a 3d model from a point cloud; wouldn't it be simple to write a point cloud converter, which converts point clouds or models to the .os format?
The reason I ask is that the object recog plugin is DRASTICALLY underutilized by the developer. Allowing us to convert models and/or pointclouds to the vuforia format would allow us to use better commercial software to capture these models. For example, I can use my kinect to 3d scan a potential vuforia object recog target, which is far easier to use than the system currently in place.
Could we PLEASE get someone to develop this ASAP? I have a hacked workaround, however a converter would save me a lot of time.
