We are looking to reco an object which is roughly a foot square. We also have many clients looking for car component reco (e.g., engines) or medical applications (e.g., bones).
I have printed the marker used with the Vuforia Object Scanner application, but it looks like it is limited to tracking objects which are roughly 150mm × 100mm.
Is there any word on, or any present method for, object recognition on larger objects?
Maximum Object Size?
Although the marker used with the Scanner App offers an area of roughly the size you mention (the grid at the top-right quarter of the printed target), you can place an object which is larger than the printed grid, so long as you keep the object in the positive X, Y axis of the grid; i.e.
Maximum Object Size?
Cheers Alessandro. I'll try some larger objects and see how it gets on.
Maximum Object Size?
Would it be possible to print the grid on something larger like A2 or A1 sheets of paper to scan objects like 1m2 big? Would vuforia then recognize just parts of the object or do I have to focus the whole object all the time?
