Object Recognition and Multimarker

February 15, 2016 - 2:09am #3

one question, is it possible to use object recognition and a multi marker on the same object at the same time in order that both tracking variants complement each other. And if that's the case do I have to weight both transformation matrices by myself or is it somehow possible to combine both markers and simply attach an 3d object in unity, like it's done when using a single image/multi marker?

Thanks a lot,

Hi, we have exactly the same question. Will they work together in a same scene?

One thing to note is that multitargets is not similar to 3D object tracking. A mutitargets is a collection of image targets (2 to 6), with each target having spacial awareness to one another built into the dataset. Although a cube or cuboid is a conventional multitarget configuration (one that is further reinforced by the Target Manager), the spacial configuration of the targets in a multitarget can be manipulated (via the dataset .xml file).

Thus, although the SDK can track either target type simultaneously, my expectation is that the variance in the poses returned for each would not make it possible to increase tracking accuracy for a single object - assuming that is the goal for @youmix90.

Interesting use case. If you experiment, please provide your findings.
