The .od file I created is too big to upload to the database. What now?

October 11, 2018 - 12:24pm #1

Hi all, I scanned a 3D object and I'm trying to add it to the database. The .od file is 45 Mb, but it says that the maximum file size to upload is 35 Mb. I feel like this is a bug with the web form. Is there anything that can be done?

Thanks.

Hello,

I don't believe the upload size has been changed on the portal. Thus, the previously recommended solution is still accurate.

Thanks,

I have the same problem. Have you solved this, or is the solution below still the only way?

Thanks all. I took your advice and just did a more concise scan. I'd really like to have full coverage in the near future, so let me know when the size limit is updated.

Hello,

Thank you for the suggestion. We are working on improving the scanning app experience to be more instructive in these situations.

In the meanwhile, repeat your scan covering less areas or scanning it from a bit larger distance. Both will help to pick up fewer features from object and reduce to overall .OD file size.

Thanks,
