Real world size of 3D object

October 17, 2018 - 7:51pm #1

May I know is it possible to get the real world 3D object size in object recognition?I am trying to develop an android app on teaching mathematics using Augmented Reality. By having this app, the user can use the AR camera to point to a real 3D object and the object dimension (eg width, height and length) will be shown by using AR. So, in order to do that, I should capture the 3D object by using the object scanner to generate .od file. From the .od file/ when i capture the 3D object, is it possible for me to get the real world object dimensions?

I was thinking the same thing with my project. Also, right now, in my app, the ImageTarget is only a parent of basic 3D objects such as a white cube (based off the manual). I am trying to get the ImageTarget to display a much, much more complicated and sophisticated 3D model, but I am not sure how to make my own custom 3D model to use in place of the white cube. How do I do this?
