Recognize two equal markers

February 15, 2017 - 9:55am #1

Is it possible to have a 3D object project it into two different markers with the same image?

Recognize two equal markers

Hello,

Although Vuforia does not officially support the simultaneous detection and tracking of similar markers, I have heard that some have gotten this to work using the following workflow:

Vuforia portal workflow:

1. Create device database

2. Create target “a1” using image #1, with width x

3. Create target “a2” using image #1, with width x

4. Download single dataset “k” which includes “a1” & “a2”

Unity portal workflow:

1. Import dataset “k” into Unity Editor

2. In scene, open ARCamera configuration

3. Load & activate dataset “k”

4. Add ImageTarget prefab to scene, called “a1”

5. In prefab “a1”, select database “k” and image target “a1”

6. As child to “a1”, associate game object “teapot brass”

7. Add ImageTarget prefab to scene, called “a2”

8. In prefab “a2”, select database “k” and image target “a2”

9. As child to “a2”, associate game object “teapot brass”

Note that I have yet to try this so your mileage may vary, and Vuforia's behavior in this use case is undefined.

Additionally, I will escalate this internally as a feature request.

Thanks
