Save/Load State of SmartTerrain/Reconstruction

April 6, 2016 - 5:15am #1

Hi,

we are woundering if it is possible to resume the scanned state of the smart terrain.

We are builing an app for an exhibition and want to track a table with complex content. There are every the same light conditions etc.

So, because normal visitors don't like to initiate and scan the table, I want to do this scan process one time when starting the exhibition and the next days it will be restored.

Second scenario: Do the scanning with one tablet and publish it to other devices.

As I understand the vuforia architecture, we are looking for someting like mReconstructionBehaviour.Reconstruction.Serialize and mReconstructionBehaviour.Reconstruction.Deserialize().

@vuforia: do you know some help? I would very appreciate this.

In addition we are willing to pay for that feature.

Regards

Thies

Save/Load State of SmartTerrain/Reconstruction

With .net Reflection and decompiling we digged deeper into the vuforia dlls (Vuforia.UnityExtensions.dll: ReconstructionFromTargetImpl.mNativeReconstructionPtr)

It looks like the data for the smart terrain is stored behind this pointer, which is administered by the unmanaged VuforiaWrapper.dll.

But without any information about the data structure stored at this location, this knowledge is useless.

So, dear Vuforias, can you provide us with these deeper informations? Say it again, we are willing to pay for that information, if needed.

Best regards

Thies
