June 2020... the problem is still there.
Trying to detect some simple geometric figures (cubes mainly).
Covered with different kind of textures to add details, but the result is always the same.
Vuforia Object Scanner, then Test Mode ... works perfect. (quick detection and smooth tracking, starting from any face)
Added to a database in Vuforia Target Manager page, download and import into Unity ... works awful.
The pyramid works perfect.
The cube with similar texture just 1 face is detected.
The cube with too many letters (backwards) is never detected (on Unity), but in the Object Scanner App works perfect (up to 1300 feature detected)
WHY WORKS ON VUFORIA OBJECT SCANNER APP ... BUT NOT ALREADY IN UNITY!!
(maybe, the internal Scanner App uses a different engine version internally?)
Also... testing in Unity Editor (PC using a webcam) get some detections, that missing afterwards on the Android build.
I have already tested any previous suggestions, but none of them gets the Vuforia Unity Engine works as in the Test Mode of the Scanner App.
Vuforia 9.1.7
Unity 2019.3.12
Android 10 on Samsung Galaxy 8+ (also trying on Samsung Galaxy 7)
Hi @fernans,
Object Targets are a digital representation of the features and geometry of a physical object. Unfortunately objects like cube/pyramid don't work well due to the lack of features.
Please try another object with has more features.
More info our object reco can be found here:https://library.vuforia.com/content/vuforia-library/en/articles/Training/Object-Recognition.html
Thank you.
