I've never used vuforia before, but we've decided to use it to find objects for FTC. I'm trying to scan a yellow cube (it looks like this, the grid is face up), but whenever I start scanning, it makes some points on the paper in addition to the cube.
I've tried with all sorts of lighting, on all colors of background(including gray, blue works the best), but whenever I remove the paper from beneath the cube, it no longer recognizes the cube, but if I point the camera at the paper, it shows the grid around the paper, even though there's nothing there. It's as if the phone is scanning the paper instead of the cube.
I have been able to isolate the cube one time on a blue background, but I was only able to scan from a few angles, so the recognition only worked at a certain angle, and only on a blue background.
What's going on? I printed the scanning target multiple times with and without the "fit to size" printing option. So far, I've only used the scanning app on an android phone (Moto G 2nd Gen). I attached the JPG from the functional scan.
Help.
I'm having the same issue
I'm having the same issue right now, trying to get a good, clean scan of the cube.
I am seeing the exact issue.
I am seeing the exact issue. Does anyone have an answer?
Hello,
Hello,
It is not unusual for a few feature points to be picked up from the scanning target when using the Object Target Scanning Tool.
There is no #8 in that
There is no #8 in that article now. Having the same problem: in test mode the scanner only detects the origin on the paper, not the scanned object :-(
Hi @teriberka,
Hi @teriberka,
Could you please elaborate on the issue faced? To which #8 are you referring to?
Thank you.

I'm experiencing the same, though I picked some objects, that weren't very suitable in general.
