Nothing new to announce on this; officially we still support Android smartphones and tablets with embedded cameras, with Android version 2.3 and above.

Hi, any news on this topic?

I am currently doing some work with augmented reality on mini pc

I am working on odroid-u2 + logitech C615
http://hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G135341370451

I manage to do some stuff with Linux and opencv, but I would like to make it work with Android+Vuforia.
But I don't manage to capture anything from the camera.

Is it possible to bypass the QCAR camera capture and use my own?
Or what are the requirements? What kind of camera can we use?

Did someone already tried with some android mini pcs that have an embedded camera?
Like rikomagic products for instance :

Some models have integrated camera (2 megapixels) . Do you think could be better than external camera?

The best is to try one of those mini PC and see; some issues might come from the use of the external camera.

Since vuforia can't run on the desktop is there a chance it will work with some kind of  Android mini PC with external camera (Ouya,imito qx1...etc)  ?

Hi, thanks for the specs;

actually, I think the issue is related to the usge of the USB camera (which might deliver images in a strange format not supported by Vuforia);

I believe this kind of devices is not supported unfortunately.
