Camera Exposure Control

March 6, 2014 - 9:49am #1

I would like to ask, if it is possible to control the exposure of camera via Vuforia SDK? Or if it is possible to at least fix the exposure? If not is there any hack how to do that?

Thank you for your answer.

I've been trying to get to the exposure settings for a while now. I have good news and bad news.

Bad news: On the Android, the camera resource is being reserved by Vuforia, and no other process can change its settings while Vuforia is running.

Good news: On the iOS there is no such lock-down. (Objective-C native code follows)

AVCaptureDevice *device = [cameras objectAtIndex:0];
[device setExposureModeCustomWithDuration: CMTimeMake(exposureMiliseconds, 1000) ISO:iso completionHandler:^(CMTime syncTime) {NSLog(@"Set Camera Exposure");}];

No, this is nothing to do with Vuforia, so there is no API.

This is very much device specific.
