Hi,

I know it's a very old post. Met the same issue and figured out by googling for couple hours. Hope it'll be helpful for people with similar problem.

In order to compile and run the VWS sample in java (2-0-0), basically what you need to do is the following

  • In SignatureBuilder.java change "package com.qualcomm.vuforia.VisualSearch.utils" to "com.qualcomm.vuforia.CloudRecognition.samples"
  • Remove all "com.qualcomm.vuforia.CloudRecognition.utils.SignatureBuilder" in java files
  • Update server access key and secret key to java files
  • Download httpcomponents-client, commons-codec, commons-io-2.4 packages and put them somewhere which in my case the src/lib (src/java for java src code files)
  • Compile  src$ javac -d . -cp "java":"./lib/*" java/*.java
  • Run src$ java -cp ".":"./lib/*" com.qualcomm.vuforia.CloudRecognition.samples.PostNewTarget

Have you added the apache Jars to your sample project ?

In Eclipse,  once you have created a Java project and imported the VWS Java samples into it, you can just right-click on the project and select Properties;

then select Java Build Path -> Libraries and then Add External Jars...  (here you can point to the Apache JARs that you should have downloaded previously).
