Get the state object without rendering the background

July 7, 2012 - 2:17am #1

here are the 2 things I want to achieve:

1. I need to get the state object so I can access the frame captured by the camera

2. I do not want QCAR to render the background for me

the problem is, the state object is returned by this line of code:

State state = QCAR::Renderer::getInstance.begin();

which also tells QCAR to start rendering the background,

is there any way to get the state object without rendering the background?

I'm also facing the same problem. In my project I just need to get the tracking matrix from the state object, so rendering would be totally unneccessary for me. As for the purpose, I want to write an application to measure the latency of tracking implemented in vuforia.

What do you want to render in place of the Video Background?

I'd recommend taking a look at the BackgroundTextureAccess sample, which demonstrates how to assign rendering to a texture. This approach will give you a lot of flexibility as to how you want to handle VB rendering. If don't want to present a rendered VB simply comment out the lines that deal with VB rendering,  past the call to begin() and prior to the model rendering ( e.g. lines 386 - 431 in the Android sample ).
