IS there a way where I can augment an image into the imagetarget instead of a 3d object.
i.e for example can I replace the teapot with a photo.
Well, in this case, displaying PDF can probably be done by creating an Intent and starting an activity by specifying that you want to read a PDFF file;
but you will also need to have some PDF reader/viewer installed on your device; this is however not related to Vuforia, so I would recommend to search the solution in Android-specific forums;
for instance, here is one discussing the subject:
Hi Al, Thanks for your suggest.
but i'm thingking for another way, instead of using android web view that need internet, can you tell me how to open file (PDF file) using pdf reader,
so when i click an objek such as a book/page, AR automaticly open pdf reader.
That is shown in the Cloud Recognition sample as well, in the iOS version. I recommend to have a look there.
If you get lost, I would then suggest to post your iOS specific question in the iOS section of our Forum:
Hi, you cannot use a PDF as an image for texture; you would need to convert to JPG or PNG first.
Alternatively, you could use a technique like:
- first create a Web View (using Android Web View) and try to display the PDF there
- then, render the Web View into a bitmap (this technique is shown in the Cloud Recognition sample, if you want to have a look)
- finally, update your texture from the bitmap above
You need to create a material in Unity, set the shader for the material so that it supports textures (e.g. you could use the Shader called "Unlit/texture"), and then assign the image that you want to use as texture (note, the image must be located somewhere in your Assets folder).
Note that this is a genuinely Unity-specific issue, not related to Vuforia; I would recommend to read a tutorial about creating textured objects from the Unity website.
surely you can;
this is for instance a small tutorial about how to achieve that (OpenGL + Android, but you can basically reuse much of it on iOS too);
If you are working from Unity, that's just a matter of creating a quad and attaching it under the target, replacng the teapot.
