ImageTargets demo: CameraService log warnings

March 23, 2011 - 9:28am #1

Hello!
I'm trying to develop an application starting from the ImageTargets demo. While debugging the program I've found that a warning is issued continuously on the DDMS log:

03-23 17:18:38.613: WARN/CameraService(2367): setPreviewCallbackFlag (pid 14947)
03-23 17:18:38.621: WARN/CameraService(2367): setPreviewCallbackFlag (pid 14947)
03-23 17:18:38.715: WARN/CameraService(2367): setPreviewCallbackFlag (pid 14947)
03-23 17:18:38.758: WARN/CameraService(2367): setPreviewCallbackFlag (pid 14947)
03-23 17:18:38.824: WARN/CameraService(2367): setPreviewCallbackFlag (pid 14947)
03-23 17:18:38.855: WARN/CameraService(2367): setPreviewCallbackFlag (pid 14947)
03-23 17:18:38.926: WARN/CameraService(2367): setPreviewCallbackFlag (pid 14947)
03-23 17:18:38.961: WARN/CameraService(2367): setPreviewCallbackFlag (pid 14947)
03-23 17:18:39.043: WARN/CameraService(2367): setPreviewCallbackFlag (pid 14947)
03-23 17:18:39.062: WARN/CameraService(2367): setPreviewCallbackFlag (pid 14947)
03-23 17:18:39.140: WARN/CameraService(2367): setPreviewCallbackFlag (pid 14947)
...

This goes on indefinitely until I quit the program. It's not a bug of my application, it can also be reproduced using the vanilla ImageTargets demo program. The development device I use is a Samsung Galaxy S, with Android 2.2. Should I care for these warning messages?

Thanks for the reply, Kim. I hope that they will fix things with the upcoming 2.3 OS update... ;)

No, these warnings aren't anything to worry about. They're actually Android system-level warnings, and not something we can control. I am surprised that you are seeing them with OS 2.2, typically we only see these with OS 2.1, but it could be device-dependent.
