A. I would like to know if there function/s isin the an which alows you to
render 2/3d graphics and animation according to location and distance from /proximity knowN locATION and not by target images.
(far location rendered to small.)

B. once target image is found is it possible to replace it

location based api

Hi, I'm looking for something similar.

I've seen on a couple of forums that say https://www.gimbal.com is promising but I've got some questions about how GPS works with Unity and Vuforia.

Besides the obvious of how does it integrate, I also want to know how accurate it it in terms of orientation.

For example, if I was to go to a GPS location that is a building, would I be able to augment something on the front of the building with a fair amount of precision or would I use the GPS as a general trigger then use some other method to augment precisely?

Also, on the Gimbal website, they mention using Beacons, is this necessary for GPS in general or is GPS as a technology reliable enough?

Thanks

Can you please link me to a location based AR? I'm currently working on a location based android application and i need to find a suitable framework to work on. Can you please guide me?

Hi Kim.
I meant to tie an object to a 3d location and orientation(like GPS and compass) rather than to a surface.
distance and angle from location also affects its dimensions.

I'll look at the link you gave me.I quite new at this.
Thnakx again.

Joseph.

I would like to add that geolocated AR is very easy to implement, there are loads of free samples on the web. The biggest work is AR based on vision.

QCAR provides image based tracking only, not location based tracking.

I'm not sure what you mean? You can overlay graphics on the image target, and even completely hide it this way. Try rendering a textured plane that matches its dimensions. See this post for some sample code: http://ar.qualcomm.at/node/2000357
