Make the ImageTarget mesh display with a transperent material (Unity)

July 9, 2015 - 3:09pm #1

Just to be clear, I am not looking for  the thing lots of others have asked about where they want to be able to see something  under the image target, I just want to make the image target's mesh itself not actually display.

As I say I am using Unity, and when I set the material for 'ImageTargetStones' (for example) to use the 'Unlit/Transparent' shader and set the texture in there to be a complately transparent material I created, it works for a bit, but then, usually when saving, reopening or after building, the shader gets automagically set back to 'Unlti/Texture' and the material gets set back to 'stone_scaled'- its driving me nuts!

If anyone does know the answer and it involves adding some script in somewhere, please make sure to also let me know where/how to find the script etc since I am only really just learning the scripting side of things...

Thanks in advance :)

It shouldn't be necessary to apply a transparent shader to the ImageTargets prefab, as the TurnOffBehaviour.cs script hides the virtual representation of the target.
