Multiple datasets

February 1, 2011 - 11:02am #1

Hello,

I am developing an application and i need to track a lot of targets. Is there possible to use multiple datasets, and then defining in the code with which database compare the image being captured by the camera. The idea is to change the dataset against which we compare the captured target, on the fly.

Thanks,

Catarina

It would be really great if I could let users take a photo, make my app upload it to Qualcomm and get the trackable data back and use it in my app.

that's exactly what i would be going for. please give us a chance on that.

I second this request.

It would be really useful to be able to swap the database of targets at runtime so that the app doesn't have to be recompiled and updated every time a new marker is added. Thanks!

Yes, I already know all my targets, but there are many off them, so i would like to swap out which image targets the tracker can detect at each time.

For exemple, if i know that i am facing north, using the compass, i don't need to use the entire database, just a part of it.

In this way, i could have more imagem targets and the performence would increase.

Could you give us a little more information about how you would like this to work? Are you trying to swap out which image targets the tracker can detect, or do something else? Will you know ahead of time all the targets that might be tracked?

By the way, you can have multiple trackables in a single dataset. Set up all the targets in a single project in the My Trackables system, and then check the boxes by all the ones you want to include before downloading. Just in case that wasn't clear!

Thanks,

This isn't currently possible, the tracking dataset is defined at compile time and cannot be changed at runtime. It is a feature we are considering, however. I'll take this as an additional vote for the feature request.
