Online Target Creator system

May 18, 2011 - 3:37am #1

The online system has changed quite a lot and I guess it could be helpful for some but not me.

Would it be possible to bring back the auto size feature?

For me adding in the sizes manually takes a lot of time and it worked well when my 3D objects always came out within the bounds of the target image.

I like the system where you uploaded an image and that was that.

Cheers,
Rob.

Yes I completely agree.

Yes, but then you have to repackage the *.unitypackage if you wish to distribute it.

But I don't think that these approaches have to be exclusive. Both have merit. Ideally the interface would provide the option, or default to auto-sizing if no sizes are provided.

But you can manually change the sizes from the config.xml anyway.

The auto sizing was convenient. Though an advantage of the manual entry is that you can cheat the target dimensions, so long as you maintain the proper aspect ratio. Ideally I'd like to see the TMS move towards a web services interface so that we can build our own tools. But I realize that the target resource rendering is computationally intensive, and so there are special considerations to opening it up as a service.
