Recognition Level - Cropped Image Marker

June 21, 2013 - 3:18am #1

Hi,

I'm opening new thread because I don't know exatly what to search, I hope you can help me anyway :)

I have an Image Target that has a good recognition rating (4/5) and it represent an human super hero.

What i need to know is: if I crop the printed marker, following human anatomy, I will have an Image Marker with not a fixed background but: between legs, between arms and body, etc...a background that can vary with the environment scene: this will change something in the recognition ?

Potentially I can have more "features" in the marker compared to the processed one, and I don't know if this can decrease recognition level or, Vuforia, will just ignore it.

Thanks alot in advance.

Regards

I think the only way you can test this out is to try, because with the new Vuforia Engine supports tracking for a broader range of images to include logos and vector art: maps, line art, and line based images.

So it might be possible for you to create a super hero on a white paper with a clear outline, possibly with a black penliner.  Then after you scan the target you can try cutting it out and seeing if it recognises.

Let me know how it goes...
