Stoping AR function between activities

November 8, 2010 - 6:00pm #1

Hi,

I am planning to do an apps that will detect an image and provide information based on the detected trackable.

My plan was to have a startup activity that calls the ImageTargets activity (from ImageTargets sample). When the ImageTargets activity detected a trackable, I will pause or quit ImageTargets activity and return control to caller startup activity with an ID.

I implemented a callback using UpdateCallback in JNI, and I have successfully get an ID from C API in ImageTargets activity (Java). However, I cannot stop the tracking/camera preview safely as it is implemented as a multithread apps.

I tried to use finish() to stop it, but there are 2 async thread that still running, and I cannot start the ImageTargets activity for a second time.

So I wonder if there is an easy way to stop or pause the AR related function to go to other activities.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is a great question, and unfortunately it will require a little more research on my end. If you have a sample project that you could share it would really help. If so, please send it to

.

Thanks!
