Stuck on the splash screen

January 20, 2014 - 3:05am #1
Hi,
I edited the VideoPlayback.java and .cpp files and ran the ndk-build.cmd using the in-eclipse builders .. however the application once it loads onto the tab hangs .. it just loads the splashscreen and stops there. It was working with the original two images - but when i change them to the new ones it is not working. Please advise.

Stuck on the splash screen

Have you checked this article ?

https://developer.vuforia.com/forum/faq/android-how-do-i-add-another-target-video-playback-sample

Just in case you forgot to update some code somehwere...

Also, are you changing the targets but the videos are the same as in the sample ?

If you are using different videos and different targets, you can try to see first if the problem comes from the targets or the videos;

i.e. you could test the 2 original sample image targets (chips and stones) with your own videos;

and then, vice versa, you could do the opposite test, i.e.e testing your image targets using the original videos from the sample.

This could help isolating the issue.

Hi,

I tried to do that .. but it still comes and stops at the splash screen.

I created only two markers this time.

Hi, looking at the code you attached, it appear that you are trying to use 15 different targets;

I would suggest to proceed guradually and debug the issue, i.e. to make a change at a time, i.e. first replace the chips and stones targets of the original sample with your own targets, and verify that this works; then, you could move to next step, i.e. setting NUM_TARGETS to more than 2, and add the remaining application logic.
