Tracking a subset of Trackables

June 7, 2011 - 12:51pm #1

What I'd like to do is have ~50 ImageTargets in my config.xml. However, I don't need the QCAR Tracker to always be searching for all 50. In fact, it would be fine if it was only looking for 1 out of the 50 at a time, then the user could select a new one to locate.

So I'm looking for a way to tell the Tracker that it only needs to track one of the Trackables (ImageTargets) in its' library at a time.

I looked in the Trackable API for a method that would let me change the ImageTarget's type to UNKNOWN or possibly MULTI_TARGET (so I could then just switch off the multi-target tracker), but didn't see any.

My second thought was to just comment out lines from the config.xml file dynamically.

Will either of these ideas work or is what I'd like to do impossible?

Did you manage to create it??

Haven't coded it yet ;). I'll post back here if there end up being performance issues. Thanks for the quick reply.

What you're trying to do isn't currently supported. Have you noticed performance issues with 50 targets in the config file?
