AR camera setting

December 21, 2011 - 10:15pm #1

Hi! I feel I had asked too much but I have a another question.

Is it possible to change background?
Now it's showing the real world image that a camera captures, and overlay 3D objects.(This is AR.) But I would like to change the background into Black or other color, keeping tracking marker and overlaying 3D objects.
Is it possible??

Thanks so much always!

Hi, how are you?

I have a problem with the application that generates vuforia when I enter the application and the camera is displayed, it is noted that it is not using the camera properly, because it appears with zoom and it looks a little erased.

the camera of my cell phone takes pictures and videos in HD, but with the application is not seen in HD, I even think it has lower quality than an SD

The scene must include an ARCamera, but you can use additional standard cameras as well. Take a look at the Occlusion Management sample for an example of this. Models that are not children of a Trackable (e.g. an ImageTarget ) will be rendered regardless of the tracking state. If you make them children of the ARCamera they will remain in the same relative position regardless of the target position and orientation.

hi, i just want to ask if it is possible to use a unity regular camera with vuforia. It seems that I can see what a camera sees in the editor but on the device. everything just becomes gray. what i'm trying to achieve is have some 3d models be permanently in the scene whether or not the trackable was detected. Thanks!

The script overrides the Inspector settings, so you either need to change the values in the script or disable the ResetCameraClearFlags and UpdateCameraClearFlags methods to use the Inspector.

Thanks, Kim!
I found same code in QCAR behavior from Unity 1.5.
And its working.

But it look like I can do same things in "inspector window". But when i try, the change aren't reflected into deployed application.

Do I always need to change code in script?

If you are using the 1.0.6 version of the Unity extension you can open the TrackerBehaviour.cs script (in Qualcomm Augmented Reality/Scripts) and look for the ConfigureVideoBackground method. Change this line:

config.enabled = 1;

to this:

config.enabled = 0;

That will disable the video background rendering. Then you need to set up the background clear color. Find the UpdateCameraClearFlags method in that same script, and change this line:

this.camera.clearFlags = CameraClearFlags.Depth;

to this:

this.camera.clearFlags = CameraClearFlags.SolidColor;

Finally, you can change the clear color at the top of the script if you want something other than black:

private Color mClearColor = new Color(0, 0, 0, 0);
