Blur background when image targe

December 30, 2013 - 8:56pm #1

Hi everyone.

I tried to search the same problem but not success. My problem is: I want to blur everything and show only the object target when image target founded.

I attached 2 image below, "before" is the normal case, "after" is the target I want to get.

Try substituting the NegativeGrayscale shader on the NegativeGrayscaleMaterial in the Materials folder. That's the material used for the video background texture.

Also it will be a good idea to post on the Unity forum a/o Unity Answers for advice on which blur shader to use for Mobile apps - some are not efficient for mobile.

Thanks for your help @DavidBeard, I'll try this. But it seem to be not easy to implement :(

Take a look at the Background Texture Access sample. That technique will allow you to apply a shader to the video background that represents the camera view - you can activate this selectively when the target is detected.

I haven't tried to blur the background myself, but here are some threads for blur effects that you can evaluate - https://www.google.com/search?q=Unity+blur+shader&oq=Unity+blur+shader&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.3239j0j4&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=91&ie=UTF-8
