Camera view zoomed in MODE_OPTIMIZE_QUALITY

October 14, 2016 - 3:31am #1

Hello,

I'm using Vuforia 6 and Unity 5.3. I need to take a picture of the AR experience from my app, so users can keep it and share it. If I use Camera Device Mode = MODE_OPTIMIZE_SPEED, everything works fine, but the camera resolution returned by vuforia is 640 x 480, so the picture looks blurry (except for the 3D content of course). If I use Camera Device Mode = MODE_OPTIMIZE_QUALITY, the camera resolution is better (1080 x 720), but as soon as the target is found the camera image appears zoomed on my device screen, which is a problem for my app. If the target is out on focus, the camera image gets back to the "normal zoom". Is this a bug or the intended behaviour ? Is there a way to keep the non-zoomed image even when the target is detected?

Thanks for your help

Nolwenn

Thank you for your answer, but I've solved my problem. It turns out that the camera image returned by vuforia was still correct at 720p, but I did something wrong with the UV mapping of the texture.

Sounds like the camera is trying to auto-focus. This might be done more often in MODE_OPTIMIZE_QUALITY since the goal is to have the best image constantly.
