Hi

Can we use Vuforia AR unity sdk with Unity4.1.2 ios and android basic (i.e non-pro licenses)

If yes, then is there there any limitation to use it with basic license or with Unity 4.1.2.

Please reply any more details, or issue if you have faced based on the license type.

Many thanks.

You don't need a Unity Pro or mobile Pro, licenses to develop Vuforia apps. The Basic licenses that you have will work. The only restrictions that you will face, that affect Vuforia, are those that arise from differences in Unity features between the licenses. For example, you won't be able to use Vuforia's Play Mode because that requires the WebCam Texture. See: http://unity3d.com/unity/licenses

Hi David,

Thankyou for the quick reply. It really helped.

Well, I just want some more clearity on your statement "you won't be able to use Vuforia's Play Mode because that requires the WebCam Texture".

Are you talking about the Play-button in unity editor, that we use to run the game within unity editor and use macbook's internal camera to test the things before builing for ios or android? Or if this is not what you were referening then what you actually meant by "Play Mode".

Appreciate very much. Thankyou.

You are able to build android and ios apps with the free version of Unity, you just can't test them when you hit play in the Unity editor. That feature requires Unity Pro. In order to view properly test your app, you would have to publish it and put it on the device.
