can't start using the extension

November 19, 2010 - 3:54pm #10

Hello!

I am trying to use Unity3 Android extension on my HTC Desire.

I put ARCamera in my scene, build the app - but see only a black screen on the device (and I suppose I should see video).

Is there's anything I might possibly do wrong here?

thanks,
Slav

ok, I've created the project from scratch and now I see the video :).

Will try ImageTargetTextures.

Well, now I have a perfectly tracking cube,
but see no video.

I've attached a screenshot with the settings of ARCamera.

Is there anything I am doing wrong?

With different settings I can either get 1 cube, but no video - or "many cubes" (looks like some bug) and still no video.

Trying setting Unity to use OpenGL ES 2.0 instead of 1.1. Go to Edit > Project Settings > Player, choose the Android tab, expand the Other Settings section, and set the Graphics Level to OpenGL ES 2.0. Let me know if this helps!

Also, make sure that you don't have any other camera objects in your scene! The ARCamera needs to be the main camera.

Setting opengl es to 2.0 helped! :)

I have a small issue with the project :).

If I add my own script into the scene which contains OnGUI() or Update() method - after I build the application, I see a bug with "many cubes" I tried to describe earlier. It looks like 6 viewports of different sizes each containing a copy of my scene.

When I quit the application and disconnect my phone, and then run the application again without USB cable - it is OK.

Another issue (which doesn't bother me much, but I think it's important in terms of bugreporting) - when I call Application.Quit(), the app exits - but I also see android notification that application has stopped unexpectedly.

Hmm, that's strange. You're saying that it breaks on a clean run from Unity? Some people have had issues with the video when bringing the app back from a backgrounded state, but it should work on a fresh run.

What does your script do? Could you possibly zip up your whole project and send it to

?

Ok, if I see this issue with many viewports again - I will send you the project.
