Deformation of object parented to ImageTarget

I am trying to set up a small racing game.
But when I parent my car and all its features to the ImageTarget, they get deformed when I drive around.

So far I noticed this is due to the scaling of the ImageTarget.
When I set it to a scale of 1 1 1 there is no deformation but the tracking gets really bad.

Any way to stop the child objects from inheriting the parameters of the parent?

Ah!

Solved by adding an empty gameobject above the car in the hierarchy first!
