Display dynamic text with Android or Unity

February 16, 2017 - 6:24am #1

Hi,

I want to do this :

When a target is recognized, instead of displaying a 3D object (like the famous teapot), I want to display some dynamic text.

By dynamic text, I mean that, in function of the id of the recognized target, I'll query a database to retrive information and that is this information that I want to display.

How can I do that with Android or Unity?

Best regards,

Philippe

https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/HOWTO-UIWorldSpace.html

instead of attaching an object attach a WorldSpace UI centered on the image target.

As far as the query goes, you have two options:

vuforia disables objects of image targets when they are not being actively tracked, You may query a database OnEnable and it should be called every time a target is found.

the more proper way to do it would be to implement the ITrackableEventHandler Interface onto your class and of course register it to the appropiate Trackable Behaviour.
