Downloading track-tables at beta:

Downloading track-tables at beta:

Been testing the different capabilities with different images uploading them to my track tables and then downloading them. I had different problems both on beta on the older version .At the old version I download and import the tables at the image-target SDK and what happens to my surprise is that the image-plane just changes it’s size.

When I build it ,it works well but when I pass the app, the ipad it just doesn’t track .I think in the SDKforum there is a part where you have to add some textures to a folder of textures and I did that. The problem persisted and still can’t scale the square plane into a rectangle image tracking plane. Some why the scale tool just scales in xyz and not just in the axis I want.

When I tried downloading my track-table to beta the problem was an error message displays saying you can only have one tack-table per project or not corresponding .dat file found.

Any help will be welcomed and in advance thanks Kim.

This should be fixed in the next release. In the meanwhile, if it happens again restarting Unity should fix the issue.

I've created a new project and imported the android package first an then the ios one (latest versions).
Unity version: 3.4.2f2
OSX: 10.7.2

No, it sounds like something is broken... Did you import the Android and iOS extensions to the same project? That should work, although I think I've only tested this by installing Android first, and then iOS.

If you start with a fresh project and just import one extension does it behave any better? What if you start with one of the samples (e.g. ImageTargets)?

What version of Unity are you using? What version of Mac OS?

When I click the "Rename Data Set" button the files from the QCAR folder will be moved away and the ImageTarget Behavior script won't let me choose the Data Set. The "no targets defined" button appears again. I have to import the .unitypacke again and rename the files so I can choose the dataset.
Is that normal? I'm using the iOS beta at the moment
(is there a installation order? iOS version is 1.5.3 but android is 1.5.4)

Also, make sure you are referencing the 1.5 documentation, available as a downloadable PDF here: http://ar.qualcomm.com

First, the size of the trackables does matter. You need to make sure that the near and far clipping planes of the ARCamera work with the trackable size you've chosen. That said, 1000 should work with the default settings.

Your order of events here seems a bit off. You should be using the "Rename Data Set" menu before assigning the Data Set and Image Target for each trackable.

You shouldn't have to add a TrackableEventHandler if you're using the 1.5 ImageTarget prefabs. It comes with a DefaultTrackableEventHandler attached.

Your screenshot doesn't show any objects as children of the trackables...

Feel free to zip up your project and send it to

, we can take a look.

BTW, you can find the runtime log in Xcode in the Console (Run > Console for Xcode 3.2, a tab at the bottom for Xcode 4). Are you seeing the trackable lost and found messages in the log when you try to track? Are there any errors in the log?

Ok let’s start one from scratch.

I make my track-tabes, didn’t checked the size so much just said the last 2 were 1000 long. Then I save them download them and move them to unity for an import.

Finally I install both packages ,make the four image targets with the appropriate names, move a cube over them and move them inside each tree . After that I just import the trac-kable event handler script to use on two of them as a test.

I save the scene so the ghost lost qcar menu pops out and finally change the .dat contents and xml to a matching name.

Then I build the project and run it on xcode 3.2.5 .
No errors display but when I load the app it just doesn’t track.
Well that was a detailed log but if you want more detail at some part I could extend it for you Kim.

P.D: Did all the steps of the SKD guide.

Thank you!

Hi Rama
If you are interested in "setting the dataset in unity", I suggest reading the last 3 posts in this thread.It also shows a screenshot of the dataset .

Thanks for the support.

Take a look at the DataSetLoadBehaviour component on the ARCamera (in the Inspector view). Make sure your new dataset is being loaded and activated there.

If that doesn't help, could you provide the full log?

Thank you Kim:
The QCAR menu just displays after saving the scene ,it was a little bit hard to investigate and it's maybe a bug .Also there is a small problem when you open the menu "Rename 1.0.x Data Set menu "to change the name .The window is so small you actually cant see the ok option. After all those bugs I finally configured the tracktables name to match the .dat name. After sending it to xcode still nothing. Checked the event-track script and then somehow it displayed the model at the application but not over the track-table.

If you need some screenshots I can post some

There should be a QCAR menu item at the top of the screen, alongside the Window and Help menus. See the attached screenshot.

Thanks for the fast reply;

One question Kim,where can I find " QCAR > Rename 1.0.x Data Set menu option to give the dataset a name ".If you have a screenshot it will be very helpful.

Edit:There is a script named DataSetRenameMenu.cs inside newtargets folder,inside that scipt I can see:

using UnityEditor;

public class DataSetRenameMenu : Editor
{
#region PUBLIC_METHODS

[MenuItem("QCAR/Rename 1.0.x Data Set", false, 3)]
public static void ApplyDataSetProperties()
{
RenameDataSetWindow.ShowWindow();
}

#endregion // PUBLIC_METHODS
}

Still don't know what part to rename.

Looks like you're missing an important step for working with the 1.5 beta:

After importing the unitypackage that you downloaded from the TMS, you must use the QCAR > Rename 1.0.x Data Set menu option to give the dataset a name. This will move all the files to the correct folders. You should not have to place any texture files yourself.

Let us know if that helps.
