Edit Android Source After Unity Build

February 8, 2012 - 2:22pm #1

Hi,

Is it possible to edit the source of the Android project after the build is finished in Unity?

You'll have to excuse me I'm more familiar with IOS workflow than Android.

I have Unity kicking out a build for IOS under "project/ios/" the Xcode project is there and editable. this is great, and what I'm looking for on the Android side.

So following suit I am kicking out a build for Android under "project/android/" but there is no "android folder" it just drops the .apk and supporting files at the root of the project. (that may be a separate issue IDK.)

Ultimately I'm looking to write some code on top of both platforms and deal with all the icons and such independently.

I'm thinking that their would be some source I would be able to edit and recompile in Eclipse... Am I thinking about this incorrectly?

Thanks, you cats are amazingly helpful.

Kim,

Our client (giant agency) has some concerns about the license. They have a large legal dept. I need to get them in touch with someone, on the phone in touch. I put in an email through the "contact us" section of the site. I need to connect these people quicker than asap. Can you help?

Thank you!

Thanks Kim, correct again!

It was actually from having the manifest under assets/

moving the manifest to the root of the project fixed the issue.

Thanks Kim,

Yep, that's pretty nerdy. I dig it.

The app starts, it shows the launch screen, flickers once and the app closes. so close, so far away... :)

Is this indicative of anything common?

Several times the log has given me the;

Error - failed to assert required Android permissions. Failed to initialize QCAR SDK. All required Android permissions must be included for the SDK to work.

Looking at another thread I saw that wifi needs to be enabled, which it is.

but that's at the top of the debugger it keeps running for 100's of more lines until the launch screen, maybe that's it maybe not? Kinda grasping at straws... Questions, comments, concerns, suggestions?

Thanks!
