Fire and Teapot with steam

Hi , I have seen this video link on youtube:

I started the implementation of the project.I have done all the work except one thing which is confusing, that is, how can  I achieve the behaviour of fire and steam because in this tutorial when instructor places the teapot at fire place , steam comes out or starts animation but in my case it doesn't happen rather steam starts animation when trackable recognised by the app , no matter whether you place the teapot at fire place or not means simple Image target behaviour. I  am also not aware about the scripts which he assigned in video link.Help me to accomplish my task.

The instructor in the video does give a verbal explanation of the script functionality. He uses Unity's distance function to determine when the teapot and fire are within range of each other and then triggers the steam playback. You may need to research Unity's particle playback controls so that you can play/pause the particles when needed.
