Focus_mode_continuousauto

May 10, 2012 - 2:23am #1

Is this mode automatically in Vuforia 1.5, if it is available on the device? Or must I implement it? If so, where exactly I can do it?

I do not want use the CameraDeviceMenu. I'd like a Continuous AutoFocus. Is this available for Samsung Galaxy S I9000?

With iPhone 4S works the Continuous Auto mode, but not with my Galaxy S :(

I think that continuous auto will only reacquire focus when the camera senses that the object is out of focus - it's not focusing on a fixed interval.

I understand the Continuous Auto mode so that every few seconds a new Focus is set. But it does not work. FOCUS_MODE_TRIGGERAUTO but works. I've been thinking TRIGGER AUTO mode to make it into a timer. ;) But maybe that would just confuse the user.

The device will need to support continuous auto and you can activate that using CameraDevice.Instance.SetFocusMode(), as is demonstrated in the CameraDeviceMenu script. The Samsung Galaxy S I9000 should support autofocus.

If you want to ensure that all devices running your app use autofocus, then it would be a good idea to call SetFocusMode when your app initializes. Most devices seem to default to continuous autofocus, but some may not.
