FPS drop in empty scene after scene with ARCamera in android

I have significant frame drop in every scene that is loaded after scene with ARCamera.

Test:

Start app

Scene1(empty) 60 fps

Scene2 (AR) 25 fps

Scene1 (empty) 25 fps <<<  With GUI and everything I need in scene it drops to 10fps

 

I tried to manually destroy ARCamera GameObject before loading new scene, but with no change in performance.

 

How can I disable Vuforia properly to gain full resources back?

Unity 3.55, Vuforia plugin 1.5.10

Hi Marco,

have you tried with differrent settings of the "Synchronous Video" flag (enabled vs. disabled)  in ARCamera -> QCARBehaviour script ? (you can change that via the GUI inspector)

Hi all, I have the same problem with my tablet Android, the first scene ( fps 50/60) contains a GUI button that invokes a second scene with AR (fps 30/40) but when return to  first scene the fps are half (20/30)...before returning to the first scene I have disabled the camera and the image target...

Any idea how to solve this?

Tried that, both on exit and in scene, framerate stays the same.

QCARBehaviour gets disabeld by default when leaving the scene.

I'm looking at the logs in Logcat and everything looks good, but performance gets poor.

It is funny that I'm getting better performance in scene with ARCamera then in rest of application, after I once visit scene with ARCamera.

 

I'd really like to know how to get it in original state, after I just started the application. I see that it loads immediatly something but that doesn't affect performance. Only after I open scene with ARCamera.

Try disabling the QCARBehaviour, this will stop the Tracker and CameraDevice (e.g. GetComponent<QCARBehaviour>().enabled = false ).
